Outside Edge Theatre Company is thrilled to announce the appointment of three new Trustees to the charity’s Board.

Dr Bhags Sharma (Consultant Psychiatrist at CNWL NHS Trust), Gay Palmer (Social Prescribing Link Worker at Southwark GP Federation) and Joanna Green (Company Director at Pan Intercultural Arts) bring a wealth of experience and a passion for our mission.

“I’m delighted to welcome to the Board three outstanding new Trustees – Joanna Green, Gay Palmer and Bhags Sharma. These three talented individuals will bring vital experience in the areas of charity management, social prescribing and clinical addiction services respectively, all so valuable to Outside Edge. It has been a pleasure to get to know Joanna, Gay and Bhags over the course of our recent conversations and their enthusiasm for our work has shone through at every moment. I already know that they will help guide out thinking with skill and sensitivity and am enormously grateful that they have chosen to share their energy and expertise with us.” —Tom Robertson, Chair of the Board of Trustees

Dr Bhags Sharma is a Consultant Psychiatrist specialising in addictions, with over 20 years of experience working within NHS and community services. Throughout his career, he has been deeply committed to reducing stigma around addiction and mental health, and to supporting people on their journeys of recovery with compassion, dignity and hope.

Gay Palmer was one of the first link workers recruited during South Southwark’s early adoption of social prescribing. She has played a pivotal role in shaping and supporting the development of the link worker role within the Primary Care Network (PCN) and across wider networks. Her contributions have helped grow the team, including the introduction of specialist roles, and she continues to champion the importance of social prescribing across the South East London Integrated Care System (ICS). Gay is also Trustee for the National Academy for Social Prescribing (NASP) where she uses her platform to raise awareness of the value and impact of social prescribing.

Joanna Green has 14 years of experience in the arts charity sector and is currently Company Manager at Pan Intercultural Arts, an organisation that uses creativity to support refugees, survivors of trafficking, and young people underserved by society.

“On behalf of everyone at Outside Edge, I’d like to welcome Bhags, Gay and Joanna to our Board of Trustees. They are long-standing supporters of our work and experts in their respective fields. I can’t wait to see how they will collaborate with our other Trustees, Service User Representatives and staff to shape the future of the theatre company.” —Matt Steinberg, Artistic Director / CEO
