For over 26 years, we’ve been using theatre as a tool for recovery and improving wellbeing, offering free creative activities and creating award-winning shows.
Outside Edge Theatre Company (OETC) is the UK’s leading charity dedicated to addiction recovery through theatre and drama. We’ve been around since 1999, creating hard-hitting award-winning shows and running creative activities for people affected by addiction.
At OETC we approach recovery maintenance a little differently. Think weekly creative activities, creative writing and bold productions. Through freedom of expression and simply enjoying the process, our community is encouraged to build healthy new habits and reclaim the centre stage of their own lives. For us, the power to change starts with a shared journey, the support of a creative community and a lot of fun!
Our schedule is full of creative activities that help build confidence, improve wellbeing and leave people feeling seen and heard. Feel the thrill of improv with our Drop-in Drama sessions or unleash a new talent with our scriptwriting workshops Write Now. Once you join, there’s so much more. Free theatre tickets, social events, Masterclasses with industry leaders and nurturing support from fellow peers and our dedicated team all play their part.
