We are thrilled to announce a brand-new Drop-in Drama group, celebrating Muslim heritage. Facilitated by Khayaal Theatre Company, these fun and free sessions combine drama exercises with a focus on wellbeing. Following a year of development, we are pleased that this group will enhance our offer of accessible arts activities that we have co-designed to meet the needs of our local community.
Starting on January 13th and running until May 19th, these sessions will provide a safe and welcoming space for participants to reconnect with peers, discover joy in creative expression and feel spiritually and emotionally centred. The facilitated activities are designed to improve wellbeing through easy improvisation games, creating scenes and embodying characters.
The interactive sessions take place at Brady Arts Centre (192-196 Hanbury Street, E1 5HU) every Monday, 3:00pm-5:00pm (no session on 10th February or Bank Holidays) and are open to all Muslim adults in the local Tower Hamlets area and beyond! The sessions are mixed-gender and conducted in English, offering a welcoming space to reconnect, reflect and thrive.
A huge thank you goes out to The Baring Foundation, who is funding the Muslim Heritage Tales Drop-in Drama project, along with Khayaal Theatre Company who will be facilitating the sessions.
Khayaal Theatre Company is a multi-award-winning company that shares wisdom stories from Muslim heritage to help people reconnect with their hearts and feel deep spiritual and energetic connections with their fellow workshop participants.
