Three women. Nine months. With each flip of a coin, you write their story.
This isn’t your typical lecture, workshop or seminar. Step into the shoes of patients, midwives, social workers and nurses in this powerful, research-based theatre game that explores the difficult decisions, the crises and realities of drug dependency and motherhood.
Created by acclaimed writer and director Jude Christian, this unique production blends research from King’s College London’s The Stepping Stones Study and powerful theatre created by Outside Edge Theatre Company – the UK’s only theatre company dedicated to addiction.
Tickets are free for trainee and practising midwives, nurses, social workers, service providers, and anyone who wants to develop their knowledge and skills in trauma-informed care for vulnerable mothers and their infants.
Based on findings from the Stepping Stones Study, which was funded by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR130619). We are grateful to the 36 women, maternity and social care staff in England and Scotland who participated in the study.
The Stepping Stones Study explored care pathways for “female-identifying mothers” and their babies. We use the language of “mum” and “mother”, but it applies to everyone who gives birth.
Mum Points and the Stepping Stones Study were generously funded by these organisations. Thank you!
